Our organization began in 1999 when a few families in the Research Triangle Area (RTP) of North Carolina met to celebrate Vishu in a traditional way. With each subsequent year, more and more Malayalee Hindu families joined the fold, and a formal organization named HIMAM (Hindu Malayalee Mandalam) was formed in 2016. Today HIMAM carries the Malayali Hindu mantle in the Triangle area and beyond. Hindu Malayalees of the area are in relentless pursuit of making HIMAM reflect, facilitate and embody the core Kerala Hindu values and practices. We continue building on our foundations and nurturing HIMAM to make it an organization that all Hindus can call ‘our own.’ One that is vibrant and endearing to all the members and an embodiment of our rich Malayali Hindu heritage, traditions, and values.
We are a Kerala Hindu Non-Profit Organization operating within the broad guidelines under section 501(C) (3) of the USA Revenue Code.
